Egyptian foreign minister not to be in Moscow together with Arab League delegation, to visit Russia soon - ambassador

MOSCOW. Feb 25 (Interfax) - Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry will not visit Moscow as part of an Arab League delegation on February 26, but his visit to Russia is planned for the near future, Egyptian Ambassador to Russia Mohamed El-Badri said on Thursday, on the sidelines of a conference titled The Middle East: From Violence to Security as part of the Valdai Discussion Club session.

"Unfortunately not, the minister will be accompanying the president on a trip at this time, but his visit to Moscow is planned soon," El-Badri said, when asked by Interfax whether Shoukry would be among the members of the Arab League delegation visiting Moscow on Friday.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Maria Zakharova, had said last week that Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov would meet with some of the Arab League foreign ministers in Moscow on February 26.
