Embassy to Tel Aviv verifying two Russian casualties of terror attack
MOSCOW. March 9 (Interfax) - The condition of a Russian citizen injured in a terror attack in Tel Aviv is serious, and there may be another two Russian casualties of the bombing, Yevgeny Piskunov, Second Secretary of the Russian Embassy to Israel, has told Interfax.
"We have a firm confirmation for one Russian citizen who suffered severe injuries. Information about possible injuries suffered by another two citizens of Russia is being verified," he said.
The injured Russian is staying at the Wolfson hospital in Tel Aviv; appropriate medical attention has been provided, the diplomat said.
The Russian tourist suffered severe injuries in a terror attack in Tel Aviv on Tuesday.
A Palestinian terrorist attacked pedestrians in Jaffa port, a popular tourist attraction. At least ten people were hurt in the attack, and the condition of four of them was serious. A Russian tourist and a pregnant woman are among those with severe injuries, The Jerusalem Post said. One of the victims, a 29-year-old tourist from the United States, died at the hospital.
The attacker was a 22-year-old resident of the Palestinian city of Qalqilya. After the attack in Jaffa, the terrorist ran towards the center of Tel Aviv and injured more people along the way before the police could neutralize him.
