Over 110,000 economic crimes solved in Russia in 2015

MOSCOW. March 15 (Interfax) - Law enforcement officers solved more than 110,000 economic crimes last year, with every fourth of such crimes featuring large or extra large amounts, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev said.

"Acting jointly with other law enforcement authorities, controlling agencies and oversight bodies, we exposed more than 111,000 crimes of economic nature last year. Every fourth of the crimes was committed in a large, or extremely large, amount," Kolokoltsev said at an expanded meeting of the ministry board on Tuesday.

A package of measures on prevention, exposition and suppression of crimes in the area of finance and lending has been undertaken in interaction with the Federal Security Service (FSB), the Bank of Russia (the Russian central bank) and the Russian Federal Financial Monitoring Service (Rosfinmonitoring), he said.

Kolokoltsev emphasized that actual importance of the tasks to maintain the country's economical security "has increased considerably, due to a complicated current situation in the national economy".
