DPR expecting Ukrainian army offensive shortly - Zakharchenko

DONETSK. April 11 (Interfax) - Head of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Alexander Zakharchenko has reported ongoing Ukrainian attacks on DPR territory and said that the republic is expecting a Ukrainian army offensive.

"We are expecting this to happen shortly, but I hope that all will be quiet on Easter. Although life has shown that our opponents love to launch an offensive on Christmas or Easter [...] If they do, Easter will be bloody but not for us [...] They need to respond - they have amassed their hardware, fuel, lubricants, people [...] They want to provoke us so that we act first. But even if they start the whole thing, they will point the finger at us," Zakharchenko told reporters, answering a question regarding whether a Ukrainian army offensive was probable.
