Lavrov appalled by Washington's claims of Russian-Japanese communications at top level

MOSCOW. April 12 (Interfax) - Moscow is appalled by the assessments the United States has given of the top-level communications between Russia and Japan.

"We heard claims from Washington that they disapprove of top-level communications between Russia and Japan. Recently, some State Department or Whitehouse official appears to have said that [it was] 'nothing to worry about, one trip is ok.' This behavior is appalling. I think our Japanese colleagues understand it and treat it in the way such unacceptable manners deserve," Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview with Mongolian, Japanese and Chinese media outlets.

"Many western partners come [to Russia], Russian President Vladimir Putin visits a whole host of European countries," he said.
