Russia to assist India during its presidency at BRICS - Lavrov
MOSCOW. April 18 (Interfax) - Russia will support the program of India's BRICS presidency in 2016, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Monday.
"I would like to thank you for supporting Russia's presidency at BRICS, which has recently come to an end [...]. We will give full support to your presidency program and will continue to strengthen this important forum," Lavrov said in his opening remarks at a meeting with Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj.
The intensive political dialogue between Russia and India "reflects the special spirit of privileged strategic partnership" between the two countries, the Russian minister said.
Lavrov said he planned to discuss with Swaraj the fulfillment of the bilateral summit agreements and preparations for next top-level meetings.
