McFaul was not exemplar of good ambassador's conduct - Zakharova

MOSCOW. April 19 (Interfax) - Former U.S. Ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul was a poor example of a diplomatic mission head, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.

"The previous U.S. Ambassador, Michael McFaul, was the anti-example of how an ambassador should conduct himself in a country where his state sent him," she told reporters on Tuesday.

"When during your first days in office, you're meeting with the opposition instead of going to get introduced to you counterparts at the Foreign Ministry, this is a lack of respect to the country you have been sent to," Zakharova said.
