Banning of Russian films in Ukraine reminiscent of Nazi Germany practices - Naryshkin
MOSCOW. April 21 (Interfax) - Russian State Duma Chairman Sergei Naryshkin has compared the ban on showing Russian films in Ukraine to some events in Nazi Germany and suggested that Russian TV channels should show more films based on Ukrainian writers' works.
"Perhaps it's worth waiting until banned books are incinerated in squares in the Ukrainian capital and in other cities to see the full identity with the Third Reich. I would suggest that our TV channels be more active in showing films based on works by great Ukrainian authors," Naryshkin told journalists on Thursday.
It was reported earlier on Thursday that the Ukrainian president had signed into law a bill banning the screening of films produced in Russia starting from 2014.
