On Victory Day 12,000 policemen and volunteer patrolmen to provide security in Moscow
MOSCOW. April 29 (Interfax) - More than 1.5 million of people, as expected, will take part in the Victory Day celebrations in Moscow, 12,000 of law enforcement officers and volunteer patrolmen will provide security during the holding of these events, the deputy head of the Moscow Police and chief of the Public Order Division, Vyacheslav Kozlov, told reporters on Friday.
"It is estimated that more than 1.5 million Muscovites and visitors will attend the events held in Moscow on May 9. Overall, a total of 12,000 people, including law enforcement officers, interior forces servicemen and volunteer patrolmen, are planned to be involved in providing the security of public order in the territory of Moscow," Kozlov said.
Alongside the Victory Day parade in Red Square, appointed at 10:00 a.m. on May 9, the Immortal Regiment March will take place in Moscow, in which up to 500,000 people are expected to participate, he said.
