USDA expects wheat harvest in Kazakhstan at 13 mln tonnes in next agricultural year
ASTANA. May 11 (Interfax) - The United State Department of Agriculture (USDA) is forecasting wheat production in Kazakhstan in the new agricultural year (July 2016-June 2017) at 13 million tonnes, the agency said in a May review.
The estimate of Kazakhstan's wheat exports amounts to 7 million tonnes, the forecast of its imports - 60,000 tonnes.
During this agricultural year, the export potential of Kazakh grain is estimated at 8 million tonnes. In the previous agricultural year more than 6.6 million tonnes of grain were exported.
In 2015, 18.7 million tonnes of grain and legume crops in post-processing weight were harvested in Kazakhstan, which is 8.8% more than in 2014.
