Russia supplies food packages to refugees, sweets to children in Latakia
LATAKIA (Syria). May 19 (Interfax) - Russian servicemen have brought approximately 1,500 tonnes of humanitarian aid for 360 persons staying at two refugee centers in the Syrian city of Latakia, Pavel Barinov, a representative of the Russian center for reconciliation of opposing sides in Syria, has told the press.
The refugees accommodated at two former schools received individual food packages, canned fish and meat, sugar, flour, pasta and cereals. The Russian servicemen gave waffles, cookies and candy to children. Military medics deployed mobile medical posts in both centers for everyone in need of help.
"A total of 1,500 tonnes of humanitarian aid were supplied today. Individual food rations and humanitarian packages containing canned food, sugar, flour and pasta. Children were given sweets - waffles, cookies and candy," Barinov said.
