Putin accepts Murov's resignation as Federal Guard Service head, appoints Kochnev in his stead

MOSCOW. May 26 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree on accepting Yevgeny Murov's voluntary resignation as chief of the Russian Federal Guard Service, the Kremlin press service reported on Thursday.

Putin also signed a decree appointing Dmitry Kochnev Federal Guard Service chief, having relieved him of his previous official position, it said.

Murov had led the Federal Guard Service from May 2000. He was promoted to army general in 2004. He is decorated with the order 'For Services to the Fatherland' of the 4th, 3rd, and 2nd degree, the order 'For Military Services', and numerous medals. Murov is to turn 71 in November 2016.

Dmitry Kochnev was appointed head of the presidential security service in December 2015. Until recently, he had also held the rank of deputy chief of the Federal Guard Service.
