ISIL, al-Nusra keeping up attacks on positions of Syrian govt forces, militiamen - Russian Defense Ministry
MOSCOW. June 7 (Interfax) - A convoy of trucks carrying ammunition and arms and guarded by armed men was spotted in northeastern Aleppo, a representative of the Russian center for reconciliation of warring sides in the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic said.
"The convoy came from the direction of the Turkish border and freely crossed the territory controlled by various armed groups to reach the area controlled by ISIL militants," the representative of the Center told Interfax on Tuesday.
"Militants of the ISIL and Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist groups (both outlawed in Russia) are keeping up their attacks on the positions of the government troops and militiamen, while continuing to concentrate forces near Aleppo," the official said.
Taking advantage of the cessation of hostilities regime, and immediate proximity to areas controlled by the so-called moderate opposition, al-Nusra carried out force regrouping, replenished its supplies of arms and ammunition, and then went ahead with dynamic actions, the news agency's interlocutor added.
