Domodedovo passenger throughput down 18% in May to 2.2 mln
MOSCOW. June 15 (Interfax) - Passenger throughput in Moscow's Domodedovo Airport in May 2016 fell 18.3% to 2.2 million passengers, according to statistics for the last five months published on the airport operator's website.
The number of passengers on domestic flights via Domodedovo fell 9.6% to 1.279 million, and passengers on international flights totaled 9.83 million passengers, down 6.9% year-on-year.
Overall passenger throughput via Domodedovo fell 6.9% year-on-year in January-May to 9.83 million.
"The number of domestic flight passengers increased by 4.7% in comparison to the same period last year and reached 5.92 million. More than a third of all domestic passenger throughput, 1.93 million, is for five destinations: Sochi, Mineralnye Vody, Chelyabinsk, Simferopol, and Novosibirsk," the Domodedovo statement said.
