Children's camp instructor detained after accident on Karelia lake - Russian Investigative Committee

MOSCOW. June 19 (Interfax) - A children's camp instructor has been detained after an emergency on a lake in Russia's Karelia Republic that claimed the lives of 11 children and one adult.

"As part of this criminal investigation, a legal assessment will be given to the actions of employees of this children's camp and other persons responsible for organizing the children's boat trip in bad weather. One of the instructors has already been detained. Investigators are working with him," Russian Investigative Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin told Interfax.
