Most Construction ready to complete Russian segment of Amur River bridge in Q1 2018

MOSCOW. June 27 (Interfax) - Moscow Construction Company (USK Most), the general contractor for construction of the Russian portion of the rail bridge across the Amur River in the Jewish autonomous region, is ready to complete the work in the first quarter of 2018, a source with knowledge of the work of the Russian-Chinese intergovernmental commission on investment cooperation told Interfax.

Earlier this month, Rubicon LLC, a joint venture of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), China Investment Corporation (CIC) and Vnesheconombank's Far East and Baikal Region Development Fund, signed the general contractor agreement with Most Construction.

The project to build the 2.2-kilometer rail bridge across the Amur, linking Russia and China, has been underway for several years now. The Russian portion is 309 meters long. The Chinese side has already built 1,755 meters of its segment of the bridge. Russia must erect four supports and install three spans measuring 315 meters. The project costs on the Russian segment total about 9 billion rubles, of which 4 billion rubles on the bridge itself.
