Russians going to Turkey on vacation must evaluate security themselves - Peskov

MOSCOW. June 30 (Interfax) - Every tourist going to Turkey on vacation must take care of their own security, Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

He reminded reporters at a press briefing that the president had lifted restrictions on tourist exchanges and charter flights to Turkey.

"Given the de facto terrorist threat, this is not a Turkish phenomenon; unfortunately, this kind of danger haunts us in many countries, its geography is totally unpredictable, so each tourist must independently make a decision and bear responsibility for their own security if a decision to go on such trips is made," Peskov said.

"The situation may change. We hope it will change only for the better but we should still be prepared for the worst. So, citizens choosing Turkey and other places where such dangers are possible as their travel destination should definitely take relevant precautions and give appropriate consideration to their trips," the presidential press secretary said.

Turkey is not the only case, Peskov said, adding, "Alas, Paris is equally dangerous. But this is the reality we live in."
