Vienna, St. Petersburg agreements implementation to allow continuation of Karabakh negotiations - Armenian Foreign Ministry

YEREVAN. July 1 (Interfax) - The implementation of the agreements reached at the meetings of the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Vienna and St. Petersburg is necessary to continue the negotiation process of the Karabakh conflict settlement, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian said.

"The summits, which were held in Vienna and St. Petersburg, were intended, first and foremost, to stabilize the situation in the conflict zone after large-scale Azerbaijani hostilities against Nagorno-Karabakh in April. To create conditions for the continuation of the negotiation process it is necessary, first of all, to implement what was emphasized and agreed upon at the summits," he said at the Foreign Ministers Council of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation in Sochi on Friday.

He said that the measures in question are solely peaceful settlement of the conflict, full compliance with the trilateral continuing ceasefire agreements of 1994-1995, creation of the incidents investigation mechanism, and expansion of the mission of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office.
