Putin: Russia sympathizes with French people, is at one with them
MOSCOW. July 15 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin made an address to the French people due to the terror attack in Nice.
"I understand that now the republic's president, as well as the entire French authorities, has no time for telephone conversations; that is why I would like to address him publicly," Putin said in a speech broadcast by Russian TV channels.
"Dear Francois [Hollande], Russia knows what terror and the threats it poses to all of us are. Our people have faced such tragedies more than once and are deeply upset with the events that have taken place, sympathize with the French people and are at one with them," he said.
Putin called the tragedy in Nice "another disgusting terror attack in France."
