Erdogan's visit to Belarus postponed - media

MINSK. July 25 (Interfax) - The visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Belarus has been postponed, the Belarusian media said.

It was expected that Erdogan would pay a visit to Minsk late this week. In particular, his participation in the opening ceremony of the Cathedral Mosque in Minsk on July 29 was planned.

On her part, Natalya Eismont, Belarusian presidential spokesperson, confirmed to the BelaPAN news agency that the visit of Turkish president will not happen.

"This much is a certain, it will not happen this week," she said.

It is yet too early to speak of the specific terms of the visit, Eismont said.

"The visit has been prepared and is prepared. I can only say for sure that it will not happen on the dates, which were widely spread on the Internet last week," she said, noting that "we can speak of any foreseeable future."
