Central Election Commission registers PARNAS election list
MOSCOW. Aug 3 (Interfax) - The Russian Central Elections Commission on Wednesday registered a federal list of candidates to the State Duma of the seventh convocation nominated by the opposition party PARNAS (People's Freedom Party).
A relevant decree was adopted in the Central Elections Commission meeting, an Interfax correspondent has reported.
In accordance with the adopted document, the Central Elections Commission has registered a list of candidates from PARNAS, which has 281 names.
Thus, the Central Elections Commission has now registered the lists of eight parties: LDPR, A Just Russia, the Communist Party (CPRF), Civil Platform, Green Party, Patriots of Russia, Party of Growth, and PARNAS.
The Central Elections Commission may register the federal lists of some other parties, including United Russia, Yabloko, Rodina, Communists of Russia, Civil Force and the Russian Party of Pensioners for Justice.
The State Duma elections will be held in Russia on the unified voting day, September 18. According to the new electoral legislation, they will be conducted according to a mixed system: 225 deputies will be elected by party lists and another 225 - by one-mandate constituencies.
