Number of Syrian populated areas committed to truce soars to 356 - Russian Defense Ministry
MOSCOW. Aug 7 (Interfax-AVN) - The number of Syrian populated areas, which joined the truce, has soared to 356, the Russian Centre for reconciliation of opposing sides in the Syrian Arab Republic said on Saturday.
"Within last 24 hours, truce agreements have been signed with representatives of three inhabited areas in the Latakia province. The total number of inhabited areas, the leaders of which had signed reconciliation agreements, has reached 356," the Center said in a statement.
"Negotiations on joining ceasefire regime have been continued with field commanders of armed opposition detachments active in the Damascus, Latakia, and Hama provinces," according to the Center.
"The number of ceasefire application forms signed with leaders of armed groupings remained 69," the statement said.
