4.6 magnitude earthquake hits eastern Ukraine - EMSC

KYIV. Aug 7 (Interfax) - A 4.6-magnitude earthquake occurred in the south of Donetsk region at around 11:15 a.m. on Sunday, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).

The epicenter of the earthquake occurred 78 kilometers south of Donetsk and 21 kilometers north of Staryi Krym, Mariupol district, Mariupol, the epicenter was ten kilometers deep, the EMSC said on its official site.

Social media users in Mariupol said two tremors were clearly felt in all parts of the town. There is no information about damage, but have been reports of trembling walls, shaking furniture and stucco cracks.

Underground tremors were also reported by users in Donetsk, Maryinka, Volnovakha in the Donetsk region; Zaporizhia, Berdiansk and Melitopol in the Zaporizhia region; Dniepr, Kryvyi Rih and Kropivnitsky. Similar reports were received from the nearby Russian towns of Rostov-on-Don and Taganrog.
