Putin, Russian Security Council members discuss socio-economic issues, intl contacts

MOSCOW. Aug 8 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin held an operative meeting with permanent members of the Russian Security Council on Monday, the Kremlin press service reported.

"The socio-economic situation in the country and upcoming international meetings with the president have been discussed at the meeting," the press service said.

Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Federal Security Service Director Alexander Bortnikov and Foreign Intelligence Service head Mikhail Fradkov took part in the meeting.
