Traffic police squad attacked in Dagestan's Izberbash, 2 officers killed

ROSTOV-ON-DON. Aug 12 (Interfax) - Two traffic police officers were killed by unknown persons near the town of Izberbash in Dagestan in Russia's North Caucasus, a source in the region's security agencies told Interfax on Friday.

"The incident occurred near the town of Izberbash at around midday. Unknown persons moving in a Ford Focus car opened fire on a traffic police squad. Two policemen were killed," he said.

Investigators have already arrived at the scene, and measures are being taken to track down and detain those who attacked the policemen, he said.
