Kazakhstan's trade surplus narrows 35.6% in H1
ALMATY. August 12 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan's trade surplus narrowed 35.6% year-on-year in H1 2016 to $5.6 billion, the Ministry of Economy's Statistics Department said.
Foreign trade shrank by 30.4% year-on-year to $28 billion, including a 31.7% decline in exports to $16.8 billion and a 28.4% decline in imports to $11.2 billion.
Exports to the EAEU countries fell 34.5% to $1.804 billion, imports 29.7% to $4.02 billion.
The main importers of Kazakh goods in H1 2016 were Italy (15.9% of all exports), China (12.4%) and Switzerland (10.5%).
The main exporters to Kazakhstan were Russia (34.2%), China (14%) and Germany (6.9%).
