Ukrainian army fires 43 shells on Yasynuvata - DPR

DONETSK/LUHANSK. Aug 17 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian army's artillery shelled the vicinity of Yasynuvata on Tuesday evening and during the night, the Donetsk news agency said on Wednesday, with the reference to a source from security agencies of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).

"The Ukrainian side fired 122mm guns on the industrial zone in the evening and during the night. In all, 43 artillery projectiles were fired from the hostile positions in the Avdiivka area," the source told the Donetsk news agency.

The village of Sakhanka and the town of Zaitseve also found themselves under attack, he said.

In addition to the artillery, the Ukrainian army used 82mm and 120mm mortars, weapons of infantry combat vehicles, grenade launchers and small arms, the source said.

In turn, the Luhansk information center reported four attacks of the Ukrainian army on positions of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) militia in the past 24 hours.

A spokesman for the LPR militia said they were firing weapons of infantry combat vehicles and 82mm mortars.
