Nearly 30 states expected to participate in 2nd Eastern Economic Forum - Putin's envoy

MOSCOW. Aug 17 (Interfax) - There will be about 50% more participants in the 2nd Eastern Economic Forum to be held in Vladivostok on September 2-3 than a year ago, and virtually all participation quotas have been taken up, Russian presidential envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev said.

"About 2,500 participants from more than 30 countries are expected at the 2nd Eastern Economic Forum. This is 50% more than the number of participants in the first forum," Trutnev said at a meeting of the forum's organizing committee.

At the present time, applications to participate in the forum have been filed by the heads of companies from Australia, Bahrain, Cambodia, China, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mongolia, Myanmar, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Norway, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, Thailand, the United Kingdom, the United States, Vietnam, and the Virgin Islands.

"As of today, virtually all application quotas have been taken up," Trutnev said, adding that, nevertheless, the organizers will try to take into consideration the interests of all those wishing to attend the forum.
