State Duma doesn't rule out future appointment of Livanov as ambassador in Kyiv

MOSCOW. Aug 19 (Interfax) - Dmitry Livanov, who has left the post of Russia's education minister, may become Russian ambassador to Ukraine in the future, Leonid Kalashnikov, first deputy head of the State Duma committee on international affairs, said.

"Livanov in the post of Russian presidential envoy on trade-economic relations with Ukraine cannot compensate for the absence of the Russian ambassador in this country, although he may begin taking active actions within his powers," Kalashnikov told Interfax on Friday.

He also said that "Livanov may be prepared for appointment as future ambassador to Ukraine."
