Russian Central Elections Commission closely follows situation in Barvikha - Pamfilova
MOSCOW. Aug 26 (Interfax) - Mass registration of citizens has resumed in Barvikha, Russian Central Elections Commission Ella Pamfilova said and promised to prevent a situation like the one that occurred previously.
"We have received information on Barvikha, stating that they allegedly have begun massive registration of citizens there again. The chairman of the Moscow region's elections commission called me, she is now taking the toughest measures, they have the situation under their control, they are looking into every situation," Pamfilova said.
The Central Elections Commission will conduct a thorough probe into the grounds on which the Federal Migration Service is registering these citizens, she said.
"The Interior Ministry assured us that they have the situation with rubber cottages under control. [They are] ready to take measures. We will not let another Barvikha [situation] take place," Pamfilova said.
