Russian, Armenian foreign ministers discuss interaction, Karabakh - Russian Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. Aug 31 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov talked on the telephone with Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian on Wednesday to discuss Nagorno-Karabakh, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

Lavrov and Nalbandian "discussed some aspects of bilateral foreign political interaction and the situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement process," it said.

"Sergei Lavrov congratulated his Armenian counterpart on being awarded with the Russian Order of Friendship," it said.

The two ministers talked just a few hours after Russian citizen Sergei Mironov returned home from Armenia. Mironov had earlier been held in Armenia for some time under a U.S. warrant. A court in Yerevan later dismissed a motion on arresting Mironov and allowed him to leave the country.

In commenting on Mironov's detention in Armenia, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova had said earlier on Wednesday that the U.S. had started hunting for Russian citizens all over the world, which is not conducive to the normalization of relations between Moscow and Washington.
