Number of populated localities engaged in Syria truce rises to 554 - Russian Defense Ministry
MOSCOW. Sept 5 (Interfax-AVN) - Another six populated localities have joined the reconciliation process in Syria, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Sunday.
"Reconciliation agreements have been signed with representatives of six populated localities in the Latakia province in the past 24 hours. The number of populated localities engaged in the reconciliation process has thus risen to 554," the Russian center for reconciliation of opposing sides in Syria said in a bulletin.
Negotiations on joining the cessation of hostilities regime continued with the field commanders of armed opposition units in the provinces of Homs, Latakia, al-Quneitra and Hama, the ministry said.
"The number of armed units, which have declared the cessation of hostilities, is unchanged, 69," the bulletin said.
