Russia boosts wheat exports 60% to 10.9 mln tonnes in 7M - customs
MOSCOW. Sept 7 (Interfax) - Russia exported 10.99.306 million tonnes of wheat and wheat-and-rye mix worth $1.885 billion in January-July 2016, the Federal Customs Service (FCS) said.
This was 60% more than the 6.8 million tonnes Russia exported for $1.452 billion in the same period of 2015.
Russia imported grain worth $211.3 million in the seven months, up from imports worth $189.3 million a year earlier.
Imports of wheat-and-rye mix more than tripled to 389,300 tonnes (worth $58.5 million) in January-July, up from 117,400 tonnes ($30.4 million) in the same period last year. Barley imports rose to 41,400 tonnes ($6.3 million) from 10,800 tonnes ($2.2 million), while corn imports declined to 26,300 tonnes ($91 million) from 28,800 tonnes ($97 million).
