Journalists detained in Kosovo say will soon face trial for illegally crossing border - Russian Union of Journalists

MOSCOW. Sept 16 (Interfax) - The Russian journalists detained in Kosovo made contact and said a court hearing on the illegal crossing by them of the Kosovo administrative border is expected to be held in the near future, the Russian Union of Journalists said, citing the Association of Journalists of Kosovo (AGK).

"According to information received from our colleagues, Belous and Sazonova made contact and said a court hearing on the illegal crossing by them of the Kosovo administrative border is expected to be held in the near future. The apparent outcome of the hearing will be the journalists' deportation. For our part, we are following the situation closely, we are in contact with the AGK, the Association of Journalists of Kosovo, on the issue of the detention," Russian Union of Journalists secretary, Timur Shafirov, said in a commentary posted on the organization's website on Friday.

According to earlier reports, a group of journalists from the agency News Front was detained in Kosovo.
