No massive violations in State Duma election - CIS election observation mission
MOSCOW. Sept 19 (Interfax) - CIS election observers did not see substantial violations in the latest parliamentary elections in Russia, CIS election observation mission chief Vladimir Garkun said on Monday, adding that certain shortcoming could not influence outcome of that ballot.
"The CIS observers mentioned certain shortcomings and flaws in their reports, yet they were not massive, and could not influence outcome of the ballot," Garkun said at a press briefing in Moscow.
In the opinion of the mission, "the vote was organized and complied with election laws of the Russian Federation," he said.
"Russian authorities and elections commissions of all levels ensured the right of citizens to a free expression of will during the ballot," Garkun said.
