President Aliyev accepts Pakistani prime minister's invitation to visit Islamabad
BAKU. Sept 26 (Interfax) - Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev accepted Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif's invitation to visit the country, the Azerbaijani presidential website said.
Aliyev received the delegation led by Pakistani Defense Production Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain on Monday.
Hussain conveyed the Pakistani prime minister's invitation for the Azerbaijani president at the meeting.
President Aliyev also expressed gratitude to Pakistan for the support to Azerbaijan's position in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Baku always backs Islamabad in the Kashmir issue, the head of state said. President Aliyev called Pakistan "one of closest and large friends for Azerbaijan."
The president said he was sure that Azerbaijani-Pakistani cooperation in the area of defense and the military industry will continue to successfully develop.
