Matviyenko declares absence of essential violations in latest parliamentary elections

MOSCOW. Sept 28 (Interfax) - The September 18 elections of the State Duma were transparent and devoid of essential violations, Federation Council Chairperson Valentina Matviyenko said.

"Importantly, those elections were transparent and open in an absolute majority of regions and no significant violations occurred," Matviyenko said at a Federation Council meeting on Wednesday.

She urged Federation Council members to improve coordination in their joint work with the State Duma.
