Moscow, Beijing working together to minimize possible harm from U.S. missile defense - Russian Armed Forces General Staff

BEIJING. Oct 11 (Interfax-AVN) - The defense ministries of Russia and China are working together to minimize possible harm to their security coming from the U.S. missile defense segment in the Asia Pacific region, First Deputy Head of the Russian Armed Forces General Staff's Main Operative Department Lt. Gen. Viktor Poznikhir said.

"We have held the first computer exercises of Russian and Chinese commands and staffs in the field of missile defense this year. The exercises practiced various joint scenarios deterring missile strikes of a simulated enemy which deployed missile defense systems near our borders," Poznikhir said at a press briefing in Beijing on Tuesday.

"Similar exercises will be held in 2017," he said.

"Military experts from Russia and China see eye-to-eye as to who the real target of the U.S. missile defense network is," he said.
