Gas prices for industry might be indexed 2% in 2016, pipeline prices not before July 1 - official
MOSCOW. Oct 13 (Interfax) - Gas prices for industry, which were initially expected to go up by 2% last July 1, might still be indexed before the end of this year, but there will not be any indexation of gas pipeline rates before next July 1, Deputy Economic Development Minister Nikolai Podguzov told Interfax.
It was reported earlier that there are plans to raise gas prices for both industry and households, as well as gas pipeline rates by 3% as of July 1, 2017.
But prior to this, gas prices for industry are supposed to be raised by 2%, Podguzov said.
He recalled that gas prices for industry were supposed to be raised by 2% on July 1, 2016, but the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service did not manage to make this decision for a number of technical reasons.
"Nonetheless, we haven't renounced indexation of gas tariffs. I hope that this will be done this year," Podguzov said.
"As for transportation of gas, a decision was made on a zero indexation, so no indexation is expected here before July 1, 2017," Podguzov said.
