Car production in Russia plummets 12% in 9M - Rosstat

MOSCOW. Oct 17 (Interfax) - Russia produced 807,000 cars in January-September 2016, 11.8% less year-on-year, the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) said.

Car production in September fell 5.6% year-on-year but was 16.6% higher than in August 2016.

Russia produced 94,200 trucks in January-September, up 7.5% year-on-year. Production grew 14.9% year-on-year in September and was 47.9% higher than in August 2016.

Bus production rose 9.4% year-on-year in January-September to 28,200. In September alone, output was up 42.4% year-on-year and up 11.4% from August 2016.

Russia's main car producers are OJSC Avtovaz , the Sollers group and CJSC Renault Russia (Renault's plant in Moscow). The country's main truck-builders are OJSC Kamaz and the GAZ group.
