Rail tariff indexation to be 4% a year in 2017-2019 - Econ Ministry
MOSCOW. Oct 18 (Interfax) - Tariffs on rail freight and passenger rail services will be indexed 4% a year in 2017-2019, an Economic Development Ministry representative told Interfax, commenting on the final proposals from the ministry contained in the socioeconomic development forecast for 2017-2019.
The government considered and generally approved the forecast on October 13 and gave the ministry two days for revisions.
The Economic Development Ministry has submitted the revised forecast to the Finance Ministry, which will submit the final version of the forecast and the budget to the government, the spokesman said.
"The indexation of tariffs for freight shipments in the regulated sector will amount to 4% annually in the period of 2017-2019. The increase in tariffs for passenger services in the regulated sector in 2017-2019 will correspond to the rate of price growth for freight shipments," the spokesman said, commenting on the figures for indexation of rail tariffs that were included in the final version of the forecast.
