Russia slows growth of agricultural production to 1.7% - Rosstat
MOSCOW. Oct 19 (Interfax) - In September 2016 Russian increased the production of agricultural goods by 1.7% year-on-year to 1.15 trillion rubles, the Russian Federal Statistics Service (Rosstat) said.
In comparison with August (5.9%) agricultural production growth in September slowed. In Q3 it was 3.6%.
For the 9M agricultural production in Russia rose 3% to 3.894 trillion rubles.
The production of cattle and poultry for slaughter at all types of farms in September rose 1.8% to 1.2 million tonnes in live weight, for the 9M this figure rose 4.7% to 9.5 million tonnes.
Milk production in September fell 1.5% to 2.7 million tonnes and in the 9M it fell 0.7% to 24 million tonnes.
Egg production rose 2.2% in September to 3.6 billion eggs, for the 9M it rose 1.9% to 33 billion eggs.
As at the end of September cattle at all farms fell by 1.8% to 19.5 million head, including cows - by 1.9% to 8.3 million head. Pigs rose 4.5% to 23.3 million head, sheep and goats fell by 1.3% to 26.2 million. The number of poultry rose 0.6% to 573.3 million head.
Livestock is made up of 44.1% cattle, 16.5% pigs, 47.2% sheep and goats against 45.3%, 18.2% and 46.6% as at the end of September 2015.
