Dignity and Truth Platform party leader quits Moldovan presidential race

CHISINAU. Oct 21 (Interfax) - The leader of Moldova's Dignity and Truth Platform party, Andrei Nestase, has decided to withdraw from the campaign for election as Moldovan president.

"I have resolved to withdraw my candidacy in favor of a united candidate of all anti-oligarchic, anti-reform and pro-European forces [the leader of the Action and Solidarity Party, Maia Sandu]. I am sure this is the only right decision in order to topple the current corrupt regime in Moldova. Only together shall we win," Nestase told Interfax.

He said he filed the formal application with the Moldovan Central Election Commission on Friday.
