Aleppo residents afraid of local militant shellings, not Russian or Syrian troops - Dolgov

MOSCOW. Oct 26 (Interfax) - Civilians are afraid to go out eastern Aleppo via humanitarian corridors, because they come under shelling from the militants of Jabhat al-Nusra and the related armed groups, Russian Foreign Ministry's commissioner for human rights, democracy and rule of law Konstantin Dolgov said.

"We are aware of the view that civilians are afraid to leave Aleppo, because they fear Russia and the Syrian government forces," Dolgov told reporters on Wednesday.

"But we have clear evidence, and we also expose it on a regular basis, that the militants of Jabhat al-Nusra and the related extremist groups conduct precision fire on those trying to get out through humanitarian corridors in eastern Aleppo," Dolgov said.
