MOSCOW. Oct 27 (Interfax) - The Russian, Syrian, and Iranian foreign ministers will meet in Moscow on Friday to discuss the settlement process in Syria and the situation in Iraq, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.
"A trilateral meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Syrian and Iranian counterparts will take place tomorrow, on October 28," Zakharova said at a news briefing on Thursday.
"The discussion will be centered on the development of the situation in Syria, taking into consideration the three countries' common commitment to an uncompromising fight against terrorists, the cessation of hostilities, the soonest possible end of the civilian population's sufferings, the resolution of humanitarian problems, and the launch of a political process on the well-known international legal basis," she said.
"Sergei Lavrov, Walid al-Muallem, and Mohammad Javad Zarif also plan to discuss the military-political situation taking shape in Iraq, including with a view to efficiently fighting terrorists from ISIL [banned in Russia]," Zakharova said.
