Russian Defense Ministry to release statement soon after it studies air situation materials on attack on Idlib school - Russian Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. Oct 27 (Interfax) - The Russian Defense Ministry is studying air situation materials due to an attack on a school in the Syrian province of Idlib and will release a statement soon, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.

"The Russian Defense Ministry is currently studying the air situation materials and a relevant statement will be made through the Russian Defense Ministry soon," she said at a briefing.

Zakharova said that the events in Idlib are a terrible tragedy, which demand the "immediate involvement of all international institutions in its investigation."

UNICEF reported earlier that 22 children and six teachers were killed in the attacks on a school in Syria's Idlib. Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN Vitaly Churkin called the report on the attack on the Idlib school "horrible." In turn, Federation Council international affairs committee chairman Konstantin Kosachyov called against politicization of this tragedy.
