Bishkek denies Atambayev talked to Poroshenko by phone, suspects prank call
BISHKEK. Nov 2 (Interfax) - The Kyrgyz presidential staff have dismissed a report, which appeared on the official site of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, about his telephone conversation with President Almazbek Atambayev.
"This information is untrue," Sapar Isakov, deputy chief of the Kyrgyz presidential staff in charge of foreign policy, told Interfax on Wednesday.
"It is possible that someone played a joke on the Ukrainian leader," he said.
According to the report, which was posted on the presidential website on Wednesday afternoon, Poroshenko and Atambayev "discussed current issues of the agenda of the Ukrainian-Kyrgyz relations."
