Industrial production in Kazakhstan down 1.7% in Jan-Oct

ASTANA. Nov 11 (Interfax) - The industrial output in Kazakhstan in January-October 2016 decreased by 1.7% year-on-year, said the Statistics Department of the Ministry of National Economy.

Over the reporting period, the mining industry shrank by 3.5%, water supply decreased by 4.9%, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning services edged up by 0.1%, the manufacturing industry increased by 0.4%.

Industrial production in Kazakhstan declined 1.6% in 2015 as mining output fell 2.5%.

Industrial production in 2016 is expected to decline by 2% as the mining and manufacturing sectors will shrink by 5% and 1.4%, respectively.
