Poroshenko assures Trump of Ukraine's willingness to actively cooperate with U.S. to strengthen strategic partnership

KYIV. Nov 15 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko congratulated Donald Trump on being elected U.S. president in a telephone conversation, the Ukrainian presidential press service reported on Tuesday.

"The head of state congratulated Donald Trump on winning the presidential elections and assured him of his willingness to actively cooperate with a new [U.S.] administration in the interests of strengthening strategic partnership," it said.

The parties agreed on continuing contacts, including on holding a bilateral meeting.

The Ukrainian leader invited the U.S. president-elect to visit Ukraine at any time convenient to him.
