Ulyukayev arrest will not reflect on negotiations with Tokyo on Kuril Islands - Russian Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. Nov 17 (Interfax) - The recent arrest of Russian Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukayev will not influence negotiations with Japan regarding the Kuril Islands, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.

"This post is undoubtedly involved in bilateral contacts. The ministry is operating, as the Russian leadership said, and it will operate in a stable manner. Therefore, everything that needed to be done through this agency will be done," Zakharova told reporters on Thursday.
